Overview

Built custom practice-management software for a dermatology group that had outgrown its off-the-shelf scheduling tool as it expanded to multiple providers and procedure types. The system handles scheduling logic specific to dermatology workflows — like procedure-specific time blocks and provider specialties — that generic scheduling software couldn't accommodate well. It also includes an internal dashboard for tracking procedure volume and provider utilization across the group. We built the system to integrate with the group's existing billing software rather than replacing it, minimizing disruption to an already-working part of their operations. A growing dermatology group had outgrown its off-the-shelf scheduling tool, which couldn't handle procedure-specific time blocks or multiple provider specialties without constant manual workarounds. We built custom practice-management software handling dermatology-specific scheduling logic directly, plus an internal dashboard for tracking procedure volume and provider utilization, integrated with the group's existing billing software rather than replacing it. We spent early discovery sessions cataloguing every procedure type and its scheduling quirks directly with the group's office manager and providers. The system was built and tested against a full week of real scheduling scenarios in a staging environment before cutting over from the old tool. Double-booking and the manual scheduling workarounds staff had built around the old system's limitations are gone, and leadership now tracks procedure volume and provider utilization in one dashboard instead of not tracking it at all.
