Field-Service Mobile App for a Regional Commercial Cleaning Crew Network

Overview

Built a mobile app for cleaning crews working across a regional commercial cleaning company's client sites, replacing a mix of text messages and paper checklists for daily job tracking. Crew leads check in and out of each site through the app, work through a digital checklist specific to that client's contract, and flag any supply or maintenance issues directly from the job site with a photo attached. Office staff get a real-time dashboard showing which sites are complete for the day instead of waiting for end-of-day phone check-ins. The app works offline and syncs once a connection is available, since several client sites had unreliable Wi-Fi. We built a mobile app for crew leads to check in and out of sites, work through client-specific digital checklists, and flag supply or maintenance issues with a photo — built to work offline and sync once connectivity is available, since several sites had unreliable Wi-Fi. We shadowed crews on-site to understand exactly how checklists varied by client contract before building the digital version. Offline sync was tested specifically at the sites with known Wi-Fi issues, and the app rolled out to one crew as a pilot before expanding across the full network. Office staff now see daily job completion across every site in real time instead of waiting for end-of-day phone calls, which have dropped to essentially zero since the app went live.
